Subtitle: On attempting to eat a taco while reading Jacques Ranciére's The Future of the Image.
At the Seminary book store about this time last year, a friend turns to me and, holding up the above book says, "I am buying this for you." The book went to the top of a pile of books and was quickly buried by other books. The future of reading the book arrived. I take it to the commissary/neighborhood taqueria on my lunch break. (Do you really want to hurt me?) This post is really only a vehicle for sharing the above images from my 4th of July at Lori & Geoff's farm. And also to say that after watching José Andrés cook an egg in a "pool" (as he so poetically put it) of olive oil, I decided that was what I wanted for my next breakfast. Do you see an egg being fried in a greasy puddle or an egg being bathed in a hot pool of olive oil?
