I'm pushing a cart at a Target, empty except for a 25 pound box of cat litter, when I spot these Wonder Woman panties. Be still my heart. I'll take my talismans where I can find them. I put every last one in stock in the cart and make my way to the register. You can never have too many underwear. Diana with her weaponized tiara (b. 1941) was the creation of William Marston —a polyamorous, feminist, research psychologist who invented the lie detector. He was also an intellectual who thought the world needed strong women and that society would be better off as a matriarchy. Marston died of cancer in his early 50s in 1947 when his invention was still in its adolescence. At the time, he was living with his wife and his girlfriend and their four children (two each). Marston's matriarchs continued to live together for decades until they died. I want to read that story.
